Mixed Dozen

The Mixed Dozen CD showcases the diversity of repertoire for trumpet and piano - from salon music to an acknowledged masterpiece and contemporary Australian compositions currently in school curricula - and also the range of moods and emotions an instrument with the brightest sonority of any in the orchestra can convincingly convey.

Antony I Ginnane Collection

Five of the film themes on The Antony I. Ginnane Collection release have never been available on CD or LP before. This represents a different Australian landscape, far removed from the other films of these decades such as "Picnic at Hanging Rock", "Caddie" and "The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith".

This CD features themes from 14 films produced by Antony I. Ginnane between 1976 and 1988. In those 13 years Ginnane made some of the most famous Australian films of that era. The music ranges from the classical romanticism of "The Lighthorsemen" to the blind terror of "Incident at Raven's Gate"; from the simple beauty of "High Tide" to the chilling choirs of "Thirst" and "The Everlasting Secret Family"; from the suspense of "Snapshot" to the futuristic sounds of "The Time Guardian".

Grendel Grendel Grendel

Alexander Stitt's animated film "Grendel Grendel Grendel" is based on the 1971 novel by John Gardner who adapted and expanded the classic, centuries-old poem, "Beowulf". Includes an 8 page booklet featuring an overview of the animated film's story and imagery.

Welcome To 1M1 Records

1M1 Records is an Australian initiative selling Film Soundtrack Recordings on CD. We are also an information resource. All CD releases feature information about the soundtrack, recording, track listing and ancillary notes.

New soundtracks are usually released every couple of months. Every so often there is a Newsletter, revealing new additions to the website, and occasionally information on Australian Films in production and the composers assigned to them.

1M1's Current Releases include previously unreleased Australian soundtracks (present and past), Australian soundtracks only ever released on vinyl, and re-releases of other Australian soundtracks which had been deleted.

1M1 Records releases music from Australian feature films, documentaries, television movies, animated films, and compilation CDs of Australian composers' works. These releases feature orchestral scores, instrumental scores and different combinations including synthesisers.

Some of these film soundtracks, once preserved and archived, are issued to the public as a special limited release via bulk CD duplication. Other bigger, more well-known titles, are released via mass-produced replicated CDs. 1M1 replicated CDs are manufactured using glass masters. The CD duplications have also been mastered in a studio and manufactured professionally, but distributed on quality write-once CDs. All our CDs are fully licensed from the appropriate copyright owners, as were all of 1M1 Records' previous releases. All our CD releases are copyright by 1M1 Records. All rights of the producer and the owner of the recorded work are reserved. Copying, hiring or rental of these recordings is prohibited.

The Coolangatta Gold

Bill Conti wrote this exhilarating scores for the film The Coolangatta Gold in 1984. The large symphonic orchestra performs a similar role in the film as Conti's underrated action score in the Sylvester Stallone film about POWs and football, Victory (aka. Escape to Victory), the triumphant orchestral music of The Karate Kid and The Right Stuff, and the fanfares of the Rocky series.
